Manfort jury reaches verdict on eight counts

The jury in the criminal trial against former campaign chairman Paul Manafort has reached a verdict.

The jury sent a note to the judge Tuesday afternoon saying it had reached a verdict on eight of the 18 counts against Manafort.

But it’s not yet clear what the verdict is.

The judge in the trial is now polling the jurors individually to ask whether they believe they can reach a verdict on the other 10 counts.

The news comes after the jury earlier on Tuesday asked Judge T.S. Ellis III what would happen if they could not reach a consensus on a single count.

“Your honor, if we cannot come to a consensus on a single count, how do we fill out the jury verdict form for that count and what does that mean for the final verdict?” the note earlier on Tuesday asked.
