Mood is ‘good’ at White House midterm watch party: report
The mood at the White House election watch party Tuesday night was “good,” according to CNN.
As of around 9:00 p.m., CNN reported that sources said the mood was relatively positive. CNN also reported that President Trump was not yet present at the watch party.
{mosads}Republicans were off to a good start in building on their Senate majority, with Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) projected to won the retiring Sen. Bob Corker’s seat, and Sen. Joe Donnelly (Ind.) projected to lose in Indiana to Republican Mike Braun.
In Florida, Gov. Rick Scott was slightly ahead of Sen. Bob Nelson after 9 p.m.
Slightly before the CNN report went up, Democratic strategist James Carville said that there would be no blue wave coming to save Democrats.
“Hopefully the Democrats get the House back,” he added. “I was a little more optimistic about Florida than it’s turned out to be. I think we have nail-biting in a lot of places tonight.”
