Giuliani: Trump ‘might agree’ to more written answers for Mueller

Rudy Giuliani on Tuesday said that President Trump’s legal team “might agree” to giving more written answers to questions from special counsel Robert Mueller, according to an interview with Axios.

Giuliani, the president’s personal attorney, said “we might agree” to more questions and then might provide “a few more answers. … Or we might not” after saying federal prosecutors asked about possible follow up questions when discussing the rules for written answers the president submitted last month.

“They have the right to submit more questions to us,” he explained. “We have the right to say yes or no.”

{mosads}The answers submitted last month are not public, but Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow said the answers covered “issues regarding the Russia-related topics of the inquiry.” 

Giuliani said he spent 12 to 18 hours a day with Trump during the campaign so “there’s no way he was doing anything with Russians.”

Giuliani on Sunday dismissed the possibility that Trump will sit for an interview with the special counsel, saying it would only happen “over my dead body.”

“Over my dead body. But you know, I could be dead,” Giuliani said during an interview on “Fox News Sunday” when asked if Trump would take part in an in-person interview.

CNN reported on Friday that Mueller is still interested in interviewing Trump as part of his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
