Trump mocks London mayor after police Twitter account hacked
President Trump on Saturday mocked London Mayor Sadiq Khan after the main Twitter account for his city’s police department was taken over by hackers posting bizarre messages.
“With the incompetent Mayor of London, you will never have safe streets!” Trump wrote in response to a tweet from English media personality Katie Hopkins.
“Officers says they have lost control of London streets. Apparently they lost control of their twitter account too,” Hopkins wrote in her tweet, one of several pro-Trump messages from her that the president shared Saturday.

Trump needled the London mayor after the Metropolitan Police’s website and Twitter account were targeted by hackers who sent various tweets, including some about British rapper Digga D, the BBC reported.{mosads}
Scotland Yard confirmed on its website Saturday that “unauthorised messages appeared on the news section of our website as well as on the @metpoliceuk Twitter feed and in emails sent to subscribers.”
“While we are still working to establish exactly what happened, we have begun making changes to our access arrangements to MyNewsDesk,” it added, referring to an online provider it said it uses to issue news releases.
“We apologise to our subscribers and followers for the messages they have received,” police added, emphasizing that “there has been no ‘hack’ of the Met Police’s own IT infrastructure.”
London’s mayor has been a frequent punching bag for the president, with the two trading barbs since before Trump entered office.
Trump blasted the mayor as a “stone cold loser” ahead of the president’s state visit to the U.K. last month. Khan responded by comparing Trump’s behavior to that of an 11-year-old.
