Trump slams Democrats as ‘shameful’ after Lewandowski hearing
President Trump in an early morning tweet on Wednesday slammed Democrats as “shameful” following their questioning of former campaign aide Corey Lewandowski on Capitol Hill.
“As Corey Lewandowski stated very clearly yesterday in front of the House Judiciary Committee, President Trump didn’t do anything wrong or illegal. But they all know that. The Democrats are hurting our Country, and getting nothing done. Shameful!” Trump tweeted.
{mosads}”The Witch Hunt is the greatest political scam in U.S. history!” he added in a subsequent post, sharing a tweet from Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) who said it is time to “move on.”

Lewandowski during Tuesday’s hearing declined to answer questions about his appearances in former special counsel Robert Mueller’s report and faced off with Democrats who questioned him. He repeatedly pointed to White House claims of executive privilege — even though he never worked in the Trump administration.
Lewandowski quickly earned the praise of Trump on Twitter, and used the Capitol Hill appearance to tease a potential Senate run.
During a mid-afternoon break in the hearing, he announced the launch of a new website in a tweet. The site includes photos of Lewandowski and Trump, with the president offering the testimonial “I think Corey would be fantastic” in the Senate.
The House is currently investigating possible obstruction of justice by Trump, who has repeatedly denied the allegations.
Democrats have been divided over whether to support impeachment proceedings against the president, with some hoping that questioning the former Trump campaign aide would help them make a case for it.
