Trump accuses Pelosi of having ‘nervous fit’

President Trump on Thursday accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) of having a “nervous fit” and said he didn’t believe comments she made minutes earlier about praying for him.

Trump also claimed Pelosi “hates” the fact that he has made a large number of judicial appointments throughout his term “and sooo much more,” pointing to the stock market and low unemployment numbers. Trump appeared to nudge Pelosi over comments she made earlier about not hating him.

“Nancy Pelosi just had a nervous fit. She hates that we will soon have 182 great new judges and sooo much more. Stock Market and employment records,” Trump tweeted.

“She says she ‘prays for the President,’” Trump wrote, referring to remarks Pelosi made during a press conference earlier Thursday. “I don’t believe her, not even close. Help the homeless in your district Nancy. USMCA?”

The criticism came shortly after the House Speaker rebuked a reporter at a press conference for asking if she “hates” Trump following her decision to move forward on impeaching Trump.

“I don’t hate anybody. I was raised in a Catholic house, we don’t hate anybody — not anybody in the world. So don’t you accuse me of any [hate],” Pelosi said during her weekly press briefing in the Capitol, adding that she always prays for the president.

“As a Catholic I resent you using the word ‘hate,'” Pelosi continued. “Don’t mess with me when it comes to words like that.”

Trump has regularly criticized Pelosi throughout the impeachment proceedings while deriding the inquiry as a partisan “witch hunt” by House Democrats. Trump has argued Pelosi should focus on her California district, describing it in harsh terms as riddled with “drugs” and “needles” during a campaign rally last month.

Trump targeted Democrats repeatedly on Twitter Thursday after Pelosi said in a statement that she was directing House chairmen to move forward with articles of impeachment against Trump, describing the facts as “uncontested” that the “president abused his power.”

“His wrongdoing strikes at the very heart of our Constitution,” Pelosi said. “The president leaves us no choice but to act.”
