Trump: ‘Do Nothing’ Democrats want to ‘Do Nothing’ with articles of impeachment
President Trump early Thursday accused Democrats of wanting to “Do Nothing” with the articles of impeachment that passed the House late Wednesday.
“I got Impeached last night without one Republican vote being cast with the Do Nothing Dems on their continuation of the greatest Witch Hunt in American history,” he tweeted.
“Now the Do Nothing Party want to Do Nothing with the Articles & not deliver them to the Senate, but it’s Senate’s call!” he added.

“ ‘The Senate shall set the time and place of the trial,’ ” he added in a subsequent tweet. “If the Do Nothing Democrats decide, in their great wisdom, not to show up, they would lose by Default!”

After Wednesday’s vote, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) declined to say when or if Democrats would deliver the articles charging Trump with abuse of power over his dealings with Ukraine and obstruction of Congress to the Senate.
“We’ll make that decision as a group, as we always have, as we go along,” Pelosi told reporters.
For him to be removed from office, two-thirds of the Republican-controlled Senate would have to vote for his ouster following a trial in the upper chamber.
