Trump: Democratic debate was very boring
President Trump criticized the latest Democratic presidential debate, calling it “boring” in a tweet late Sunday night.
“I must say, that was a VERY boring debate,” Trump tweeted.
The debate was held between former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). It was the first to feature only two candidates as the field has winnowed after several states have held primaries and caucuses. The event was originally planned in front of a live audience in Phoenix, but was switched to a Washington, D.C., studio without spectators amid concerns of the growing coronavirus epidemic.
Trump in his tweet also accused Biden of lying during the debate.
“Biden lied when he said I want to cut Social Security and Medicare. That’s what they ALL said 4 years ago, and nothing happened, in fact, I saved Social Security and Medicare. I will not be cutting, but they will. Be careful!” Trump said.

Trump’s proposed budget released last month included $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act.
During a Fox News town hall earlier this month, Trump again indicated he’d cut entitlement programs. After a moderator noted that curtailing the national debt would require cutting such programs, Trump said, “Oh, we’ll be cutting, but we’re also going to have growth like you’ve never had before.”
Trump later walked back the comments, tweeting the morning after the town hall that he would “protect your Social Security and Medicare, just as I have for the past 3 years.”
Four more states will hold primaries Tuesday night. Biden is entering Tuesday’s races with 154 more pledged delegates than Sanders, following success the former vice president has had since his South Carolina win at the end of last month.
