Social media users celebrate Kamala Harris’s relatability after brief stumble heading to inauguration
Vice President Harris (D) hardly missed a beat when she briefly stumbled on the Capitol steps ahead of being sworn in on Wednesday, but those who noticed it on social media celebrated the moment as another reason she is relatable.
Harris, the first woman to ever serve as vice president, quickly regained her footing and gave a thumbs up before proceeding to the west end of the Capitol for the ceremony.
While the quick slip up was just a brief moment in a day full of history-making, celebratory moments, it sparked an instant reaction on social media, with women saying she “can make almost tripping down the stairs look so friggin classy” and celebrating it as a real, human moment.

Also Kamala and Jill going up the stairs reminded me of how much of life in DC used to be walking long distances in heels. Constant struggle.
