Meghan McCain criticizes Biden for lack of action on Russia, Navalny
Meghan McCain criticized President Biden in a tweet on Thursday for not doing more to help Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny.
“If @POTUS simply calls Putin a murderer but then sits back and lets him murder @navalny – the greatest fighter for freedom and democracy in Russia,” tweeted McCain, a co-host of “The View.”
“It is nothing but meaningless straw man rhetoric,” she added. “I hope and pray each new administration will take on Putin and his atrocities.”

Biden has imposed sanctions on Russia for allegedly poisoning Navalny in 2020 despite Russian President Vladimir Putin’s denial of the attack.
Certain tech companies from Russia have been blocked from exporting to the US, and Kremlin officials and businesses who have a part in biological agent production have also been sanctioned.
Biden also classified Putin as a “killer” in an interview.
McCain believes the U.S. should be doing more as Navalny is now in prison for 2 1/2 years for going to Germany to get treatment after the poison attack.
The Russian government says leaving the country was a violation of his parole, whereas Navalny says he got convicted on trumped-up charges.
Navalny is now on a hunger strike in prison after he said the prison guards are refusing him medical care for leg and back pain and depriving him of sleep by waking him up every hour.
