Jen Psaki to throw out first pitch at Nationals game
White House press secretary Jen Psaki will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Washington Nationals’ game Sunday, the team announced.
The Nationals play the San Diego Padres at home Sunday and will be celebrating the College of William & Mary as part of its College Day Series for local colleges. Psaki graduated from William & Mary in 2000.
The Nationals will also give away bobbleheads that plays the school’s fight song and themed William & Mary items around the ballpark.
Psaki was on the swim team at William & Mary and graduated with a degree in English and sociology. She has worked for the Biden administration since Inauguration Day and before that worked on the transition team.
In June, Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Nationals’ game against the New York Mets. Goodman has been hailed as a hero for luring a pro-Trump mob away from lawmakers during the deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
Top infectious diseases expert Anthony Fauci has also thrown out a first pitch at a game. The Nationals had him do the honors last year.
