Obama to outline oil leak review
President Barack Obama will outline the findings of the
Interior Department’s 30-day review of offshore safety policies that Obama ordered in
response to the catastrophic Gulf Coast oil spill.
The president will detail a report by Interior Department Secretary Ken Salazar and recommend implementation of the proposals contained therein before taking questions from reporters at the White House on Thursday, according to administration officials.
{mosads}Obama is scheduled to make his second trip to the Gulf on Friday. The president first visited the area on May 2.
The president’s remarks and return trip to the Gulf come as BP attempts, with government approval, a “top kill” method of stopping the leak.
