Romney hitting the stump for McCain
Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) campaign announced Wednesday that onetime rival and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will hit the campaign trail on McCain’s behalf Thursday.
{mosads}Romney is scheduled to give the keynote address at an event sponsored by the Lancaster County GOP in Pennsylvania.
The swing state has been dominated by the Democratic candidates in advance of the April 22 primary.
Romney endorsed McCain after withdrawing from the race after Super Tuesday following a contentious primary battle against the Arizona senator and presumptive Republican nominee. The two men campaigned together in Utah late last month, emphasizing party unity.
The former governor is the first choice of many economic conservatives to join McCain on the Republican ticket.
