Clinton for veep group says she’s out of the running
VoteBoth.com, a website created by former aides to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) to push her as presidential candidate Barack Obama’s running mate, is shutting down because Clinton is “no longer under consideration.”
{mosads}Sam Arora and Adam Parkhomenko said in an e-mail to the more than 40,000 supporters who signed up on their website that, because Obama has tapped Clinton to be his keynote speaker at the Democratic convention, she must no longer be in the running to join the Illinois senator on the ticket. The Obama campaign has not made any official announcement regarding who will deliver the keynote address at the Democratic convention.
“Because it seems that Sen. Obama has made his decision to offer the slot on the ticket to another candidate, we believe that continuing to ask him to pick Hillary is no longer helpful to our party’s chances of winning in November,” the two former Clinton aides wrote in the e-mail.
