Poll shows Carmouche leads general
An internal poll from the campaign of 4th district Democratic candidate Paul Carmouche shows him up big on all three of the Republicans he could face in the general election.
{mosads}Democrats are hoping the Caddo Parish district attorney can capture retiring 11-term Rep. Jim McCrery’s (R) district, and Carmouche’s poll — conducted by the Kitchens Group from July 16-21 — shows him holding leads ranging from 13 to 19 points in head-to-head match-ups against the three candidates in the Republican field.
Meanwhile, one of the Republicans, Dr. John Fleming, has put out a poll of his own casting him as the clear front-runner to win the nomination on Sept. 6.
The Southern Media and Opinion Research poll, released Monday and conducted July 25-27, has Fleming leading his two primary opponents, Chris Gorman and Jeff Thompson, by significant margins.
Fleming captured 43 percent, with Gorman at 17 percent, Thompson at 15 percent, and 25 percent undecided.
