DCCC FOIAs GOP candidates for immigration violations
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is looking into the immigration records of businesses tied to a trio of Republican congressional candidates.
{mosads}According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the DCCC has issued Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for any violations, citations or complaints against businesses associated with Louisiana candidate Chris Gorman, New York candidate Richard Hanna and Illinois candidate Marty Ozinga.
Requests looking into Gorman’s and Ozinga’s numerous businesses were still pending in late July, while the one looking into Hanna Construction was closed in March.
Gorman and Ozinga are seeking to replace retiring GOP Reps. Jim McCrery (La.) and Jerry Weller (Ill.), respectively, while Hanna is running against Rep. Michael Arcuri (D-N.Y.).
The DCCC declined to comment, citing a policy against commenting on opposition research methods.
