Udall internal shows him up 11
Rep. Mark Udall (D) on Thursday released a poll showing him ahead by 11 points in Colorado’s Senate race — one of his biggest leads of the cycle in the much-polled race.
Udall led former Rep. Bob Schaffer (R) in the poll, 45-34, while most other polls have shown his lead in single digits.
{mosads}The poll was released as Udall’s campaign fights back against Schaffer and outside groups like Freedom’s Watch, which just launched an ad buy criticizing Udall for supporting a proposed Department of Peace.
“These results indicate that the attack campaign being waged by several out-of-state groups on Bob Schaffer’s behalf has been strikingly ineffective so far,” said Paul Harstad, CEO of polling firm Harstad Strategic Research.
Schaffer campaign manager Dick Wadhams said the poll results might as well be made up.
“I hope Boulder Liberal Udall’s campaign believes these numbers, but I’m sure they don’t really take them seriously, either,” Wadhams said. “This race is deadlocked, despite the massive amount of money Boulder Liberal Udall has already spent along with his extremist allies.”
