A campaign weekend: Edwards resumes campaign

When John Edwards made the announcement Thursday that he would continue his campaign in the face of his wife’s cancer diagnosis, he did so with a busy schedule ahead of him.

Edwards is slated to participate in a presidential forum on health care in Las Vegas on Saturday; his wife, Elizabeth, is also scheduled to attend. Fellow Democratic presidential candidates Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) and Barack Obama (Ill.) will also take part in the forum, hosted by the Center for American Progress Action Fund and the Service Employees International Union.

Edwards will then travel to San Francisco for a 9 a.m. policy address on Sunday. Clinton will also travel to California for non-public events. Obama will travel to West Palm Beach, Fla., on Sunday for a reception at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.

On the GOP side, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) will embark on a bus tour through New Hampshire. McCain will stop for town hall meetings in Plymouth and Littleton and will attend Lincoln Day dinners in Berlin and North Conway.
