Alex Jones: If Trump abandons base, they’ll ‘turn against him’
Controversial Infowars radio host Alex Jones urged Donald Trump to maintain the anti-establishment position that helped get him elected.
{mosads}In a new interview with the New York Times, Jones, who rallied his fans on Trump’s behalf, said the president-elect needs to continue to listen to his supporters.
“If he starts acting like he’s divorced from us and doesn’t care about us, they’ll turn against him,” Jones said.
He said that if Trump doesn’t keep his campaign promises, “people will be upset,” but added that “If he gets 20 percent done, people will be happy.”
In the Times interview, Jones said that he was one of the first calls the president-elect made in the days following the election.
“He was just thanking me for fighting so hard for Americans, and for Americanism, and thanking my listeners and supporters and to let me know that he was working really hard around the clock,” he said.
