Fiorina to decide on Senate bid after November

Former GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina said Tuesday she will decide whether to run for Senate in Virginia after this year’s statewide elections in November.

Speaking on SiriusXM’s “Leading Ladies” on Tuesday about the possibility of launching a Senate bid, Fiorina highlighted the upcoming races for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general.

“In the Commonwealth of Virginia, we have a lot of important elections this year,” she said.

{mosads}”My decision will come, I suspect, after those elections are over, but it’s certainly a consideration.”

Also during the interview, Fiorina shared concerns about the GOP’s recent attempts to repeal and replace ObamaCare along party lines. Republican leaders pulled the bill last month after facing opposition from GOP members.

“If you want to lead change successfully, you have to build support. A leader builds support,” she said.

“I frankly was very disappointed that the Republican Party attempted the repeal and replacement of ObamaCare along single-party lines. They were repeating exactly the mistake Democrats made.”

Fiorina was the only competitive woman in the 2016 GOP presidential primary. She rode rising polling from the second-tier debate onto the main stage, but could not break into the top tier of candidates.

She suspended her bid after the New Hampshire primary, where she finished in sixth place, but returned to the campaign trail briefly when Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) asked her to join his ticket as his presumptive vice presidential pick.
