Rasmussen poll: More than half say Clinton should retire
A majority of voters in a new survey think former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton should retire.
The conservative-leaning Rasmussen Reports poll finds 61 percent of respondents say it’s time for Clinton to retire.
The poll comes as Clinton’s new book on her defeat in the 2016 presidential election hits the shelves Tuesday.
{mosads}In the book, “What Happened,” Clinton shares what she saw and felt during the 2016 campaign.
She puts blame on Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) for doing “lasting damage” to her campaign and “paving the way” for Trump’s attack against her as “Crooked Hillary.”
She says in the book that she has wrestled with the question of why she lost the election, adding, “Sometimes it’s hard to focus on anything else.”
In an interview broadcast Tuesday on NPR, Clinton argued the media rewarded Trump after he made discriminatory comments during the 2016 presidential race.
The poll was conducted from Sept. 10 to 11 among 1,000 likely voters with a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
