Gary Johnson: I don’t want to be president anymore ‘because of Trump’
Gary Johnson was running for president himself, with a campaign that had been notable as much for a gaffe about Aleppo, Syria, as it had his libertarian ideas. As he kicked off his watch party in Albuquerque, N.M., Johnson felt sure that Clinton would win.
{mosads}But late into the night, it became apparent that Johnson would be wrong. Since then, Trump’s victory has rid Johnson of his desire to be president.
“At the point when it became apparent Trump would win, I no longer aspired to be president of the United States,” Johnson said. “I would not … aspire now to be president of the United States, because of Trump.”
