Nicolle Wallace: ‘The way Florida came in meant very bad things for Hillary’
When MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace saw Florida going for Trump, she thought the rest of the swing states would fall like dominoes.
{mosads}“I remember mouthing to Brian Williams, probably in the 8 o’clock hour, ‘I think she’s going to lose.’ And he said, ‘Florida?’ And I shrugged my shoulders,” she said.
“The way Florida came in, anyone that’s been on a campaign on election night, any Democrat, any Republican, any network political director, decision desk, could tell you that the way Florida came in meant very bad things for Hillary Clinton,” she said.
Wallace noted that the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape created a “repressed enthusiasm” scenario for the Republican nominee that helped make his victory even tougher to anticipate.
“Instead of depressing the Trump vote, it just made them go underground,” she said.
