Wagner holds off Democrat to secure fourth House term in Missouri
Rep. Ann Wagner (R-Mo.) held off a challenge from Democrat Cort VanOstran to secure a fourth term in the House.
Wagner’s race was considered competitive by The Cook Political Report, though it gave her the advantage.
{mosads}The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee added the district to its “red to blue” list, meaning Democrats thought it could be flipped.
But Missouri is a red state that Trump won by nearly 20 points in 2016. In Wagner’s district, Trump won by 10.
Wagner has a long history in Missouri, where she served in local government and chaired the state’s Republican party in the 2000s.
