DCCC raises $3.4M but remains in debt

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) slightly out-raised its Republican counterpart in May but is in more debt than the GOP.

The DCCC said Friday that it raised $3.44 million. The National Republican Congressional Committee reported $3.2 million raised and that includes a $1 million transfer from the Republican National Committee (RNC).

{mosads}The Democrats also reported more cash on hand than the Republicans, with $5 million in their war chest. The Republicans finished the month with $3.7 million in their bank account.

Both committees are in the red but the Republicans hold an advantage in debt. They paid their debt down to $4 million in May, while the Democrats reported debts totaling $6.7 million.

The Democratic and Republican Senate committees raised similar amounts in May. The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) reported raising $4.5 million, including a $1 million transfer from the RNC. The NRSC has has $3.7 million in their warchest and no debt.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) will report raising $3.45 million, just less than the NRSC’s haul with the RNC transfer. The DSCC has $4.17 million in debt.
