A vast majority of voters in a new poll are unenthusiastic about a rematch between former President Trump and current President Biden in the 2024 election.

Decision Desk HQ/NewsNation poll results released Monday found that around 59 percent of registered voters are “not too enthusiastic” or “not at all enthusiastic” about a rematch between the presidents. Only around 41 percent said they are “very enthusiastic” or “somewhat enthusiastic” about the rematch.

Trump handily won the Iowa caucuses last week, according to election returns from Decision Desk HQ/The Hill. He earned about 30 percent more of the vote than the next candidate, Ron DeSantis, in the Hawkeye State. The Florida governor ended his campaign Sunday.

Biden said Thursday that Trump’s Iowa win did not mean anything.

“I don’t think Iowa means anything. The president got 50-some-thousand votes, the lowest number of votes anybody who’s won got. You know, this idea that he’s going to run away — he can think anyway he wants, let him make that judgement,” Biden said.

The battle for the GOP presidential nomination heads to New Hampshire tomorrow, where Trump is also in the lead by 11.7 points over Nikki Haley, according to a polling average from Decision Desk HQ/The Hill.

The poll also asked voters who they would think would win in a 2024 rematch between Trump and Biden. About 43 percent said the former president would win, while around 33 percent said the incumbent would win. Nearly 7 percent said they think it will be “someone else” who will acquire the presidency, and around 17 percent said they are “not sure” about who would win.

The poll, conducted Jan. 16-18, surveyed 1,000 registered voters. The margin of error for the question about enthusiasm regarding a rematch between Trump and Biden, and the question about who voters think they would win in the rematch, were around 3 and 3.1 percent, respectively.
