Jill Biden blasts Trump as ‘dangerous to women and to our families’

First lady Jill Biden slammed former President Trump’s treatment of women Friday, as she kicked off Women’s History Month with a campaign event in Georgia.

The first lady launched Women for Biden, a campaign effort to mobilize women voters, with remarks in the Atlanta area. While she boasted about President Biden’s accomplishments and efforts to protect reproductive health care, Jill Biden also took aim at Trump, the likely GOP nominee.

“He spent a lifetime tearing us down and devaluing our existence. He mocks women’s bodies, disrespects our accomplishments, and brags about assault,” Biden said, the latter point a reference to Trump’s past comments on an “Access Hollywood” tape.

“Now, he’s bragging about killing Roe v. Wade,” the first lady said. “Just last night, he took credit again for enabling states like Georgia to pass cruel abortion bans that are taking away the right of women to make their own health care decisions. How far will he go? When will he stop. You know the answer. He won’t.”

She added, “Donald Trump is dangerous to women and to our families.”

The comments served as a potential preview of how the first lady will be deployed as a campaign surrogate in the months to come.

The former president, in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity Thursday, said he’s been hearing more about a proposed 15-week abortion ban. While he did not rule out backing such a proposal, Trump said he had not made up his mind on what to support.

As part of the Women for Biden initiative, the first lady plans to talk to female voters in critical swing states — Georgia, Arizona, Nevada and Wisconsin.

The campaign will also launch digital ads this week about her travel to battleground states and will run more ads targeting women through November.
