Trump says RFK Jr. ‘great for MAGA’ after VP announcement
Former President Trump called Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s campaign “great for MAGA” in a post early Wednesday.
“RFK Jr. is the most Radical Left Candidate in the race, by far. He’s a big fan of the Green New Scam, and other economy killing disasters,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I guess this would mean he is going to be taking votes from Crooked Joe Biden, which would be a great service to America.”
“His running mate, Nicole Shanahan, is even more ‘Liberal’ than him, if that’s possible. Kennedy is a Radical Left Democrat, and always will be!!! It’s great for MAGA, but the Communists will make it very hard for him to get on the Ballot,” he said, referring to his “Make America Great Again” slogan that has become a movement among conservatives. “Expect him, and her, to be indicted any day now, probably for Environmental Fraud!”
The former president added, “He is Crooked Joe Biden’s Political Opponent, not mine. I love that he is running!”
Kennedy announced Tuesday at an event in Oakland, Calif., that tech attorney and entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan would be his running mate, calling her a daughter of immigrants “who overcame every daunting obstacle and went on to achieve the highest levels of the American dream.”
“That is why I’m so proud to introduce to you, the next vice president of the United States, my fellow lawyer, a brilliant scientist, technologist, a fierce warrior-mom, Nicole Shanahan,” the long-shot candidate said in his announcement.
The national polling index from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ shows Kennedy is trailing Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee, and President Biden by about 30 points each. The numbers show the former president with 41.5 percent support, Biden with 39.1 percent and Kennedy with 9.9 percent.

Democrats also criticized Kennedy following his news about Shanahan, arguing he is serving as a “spoiler” to Biden, propelled by GOP funds.
Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) said he is “personally offended and just disgusted by” Kennedy’s campaign during a call hosted by the Democratic National Committee Tuesday.
“He should be ashamed of himself,” Garcia continued. “He should stop running for president.”
Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Austin Davis (D) also weighed in during the call, claiming Kennedy was “drafted into this race by Donald Trump’s top supporters.”
