Biden campaign trolls Trump for golfing on day off from court

President Biden’s reelection campaign trolled former President Trump for golfing on his day off from court Wednesday.

“We found out where Trump was. He was golfing. Not campaigning. Golfing,” Biden campaign spokesperson Ammar Moussa said in a statement, citing a CNN report that he was at his New Jersey golf club Bedminster.

“But, when your entire campaign is about enacting revenge and retribution for yourself and doing nothing to make Americans’ lives better, it makes sense you wouldn’t feel the need to actually speak to voters,” Moussa added.

The Biden campaign released a statement Wednesday night, ahead of the reports of Trump golfing, with the subject line “Statement on Trump’s Campaign Events Today” and it read, “he had none.”

Trump has frequently complained that the hush money trial — among many legal battles facing the former president — is designed to keep him off the campaign trail.

Trump is back in court Thursday for his New York hush money trial, which isn’t held on Wednesdays. The former president is charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection to reimbursements made to his then-fixer, Michael Cohen, for a payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels in 2016 to stay quiet about an alleged affair with Trump a decade earlier.

Democrats are hopeful that Biden’s freedom to hit the campaign trail while Trump is stuck in a courtroom in New York gives his reelection a jolt. This week, Biden traveled to Florida and New York, and he traveled to Pennsylvania last week to campaign.
