Fedorchak wins GOP primary for North Dakota’s lone House seat

North Dakota state official Julie Fedorchak has won the Republican nomination to represent the state in the House in its at-large seat, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ.

Fedorchak, a member of the North Dakota Public Service Commission, defeated a group of several candidates for the seat, including former state Rep. Rick Becker and Cara Mund, an attorney and former Miss America who ran as an independent for the seat in 2022.

Rep. Kelly Armstrong, who defeated Mund two years ago in his reelection bid, chose not to seek a fourth term in the House to run for governor to succeed outgoing Gov. Doug Burgum (R).

Fedorchak had the endorsement of former President Trump, Burgum, North Dakota Sen. John Hoeven (R) and numerous other state officials.

She will be the favorite to win the seat in the strongly Republican state.
