S.E. Cupp: Biden’s continued candidacy is ‘political malpractice’

CNN host and commentator S.E. Cupp said having President Biden stay in the presidential race is “political malpractice” following his news conference at the NATO conference Thursday night.

“That they are sticking with this man is infuriating, irresponsible, and it’s political malpractice,” she said on CNN’s “NewsNight.”

“I’m mad at Joe Biden and Democrats, because I gave them my first Democratic vote in 2020 with the express understanding and promise that he would be a one-term president put there to get Trump out,” Cupp said. “He did it; that’s why I voted for him.”

Cupp also expressed frustration on behalf of “Nikki Haley voters” such as herself, referring to the former GOP presidential candidate, and argued that Biden’s continued candidacy was alienating conservative voters who do not want another Trump presidency.

Cupp added in a clip highlighted by Mediaite that Biden “cannot do another four years.”

“He cannot beat Donald Trump, she said. “I feel a bit hoodwinked, and I’m angry.”

Democrats are still reeling following the president’s debate against former President Trump two weeks ago, when his performance sparked concerns about his age and ability to take on another term.

Since then, the Biden administration has arranged a string of public appearances, including a sit-down interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. The latest event was the Thursday night press conference, during which Biden took questions from journalists.

At the beginning of the event, he mistakenly called Vice President Harris “Vice President Trump.” The slipup was preceded by another public gaffe earlier in the day, when Biden called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “President Putin.”

Biden has stayed firm in his plan to seek reelection, telling reporters Thursday that he is the best candidate for the job.

“I believe I’m the best qualified to govern, and I think I’m the best qualified to win,” he said.
