Trump issues retort to Harris campaign attacks: ‘She’s a weird person’

Former President Trump hit back at Vice President Harris’s campaign for attempting to paint his campaign with Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) as “weird,” instead insisting it is the other way around.

The Harris campaign’s strategy focuses on statements and controversial remarks made by the GOP nominee and his running mate, including Trump’s remarks on Hannibal Lecter and Vance’s past comments on people who don’t have children.

Fox News’s Laura Ingraham asked the former president in an interview that aired Tuesday what his response was to these attacks.

Trump responded by saying his critics use “sound bites” like “Russia, Russia, Russia” and saying he is a “paid associate of [Russian President Vladimir Putin],” adding that “these people are crazy.” He then delved into a tangent about President Biden’s golf skills.

“And everything about them, look at Biden. He said he’ll challenge me to golf. I’m a very good golfer. He’s a terrible golfer. This guy can’t hit a ball 30 yards,” the former president said.

He then circled back to the “weird” remarks, saying it was Harris who is the “weird” one.

“Listen, this whole thing is a con job. ‘Just plain weird.’ Do you know who is plain weird? She’s plain weird,” he told Ingraham. “She’s a weird person. Look at her past. Look at what she does.”

“And look at what she used to say about herself, and I won’t get into it, what she used to say and who she was compared to, what she said starting at about 2016. She became a totally different person. Only for political reasons,” he added.

Vance also responded to the criticism, saying in a separate Fox News interview that aired Sunday that his feelings were not hurt by the insult.

“Look, the price of admission — meaning, the price of getting to serve the people of this country — is the Democrats are going to attack us with everything that they have. I think it’s an honor,” Vance said.
