Farah Griffin: ‘Progressive mob’ came for Shapiro

“The View” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin argued that the “progressive mob” came for Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) and that’s why he was not chosen as Vice President Harris’s running mate.

“The progressive mob came for Josh Shapiro & a lot of it was gross & simply thinly veiled antisemitism,” Farah Griffin said Tuesday on social platform X.

The former Trump White House communications director said Shapiro has a “bright future ahead” because the “VAST majority of this country supports Israel, stands w/ our Jewish friends, & would love to see a Jewish VP &or POTUS someday.”

Shapiro, who was shortlisted to be Harris’s running mate, ultimately was not chosen. Harris announced Tuesday that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) would join her on the ticket.

As the veepstakes drew closer, a number of voices on the far left criticized Shapiro for his position on the Israel-Hamas war. People have criticized the Jewish governor of blindly supporting Israel’s aggressive military moves at the expense of thousands of Palestinians.

Several Shapiro supporters have backed the governor amid the criticism, arguing that the governor was being held to a double standard and the attacks are antisemitic.

After news broke that Walz was the chosen candidate, Shapiro released a statement congratulating Harris and the Minnesota governor.

“Vice President Kamala Harris has my enthusiastic support – and I know that Governor Tim Walz is an exceptionally strong addition to the ticket who will help Kamala move our country forward,” Shapiro said.

The Pennsylvania governor said he looks forward to traveling across the state to campaign for Harris and Walz and his work as governor is just getting started.
