Vance says ‘of course’ he wants to debate Walz
Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), former President Trump’s running mate, said “of course” he wants to debate the Democratic vice presidential nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
“Of course,” Vance told CNN’s Dana Bash in a “State of the Union” interview that aired Sunday.
“I want to debate Tim Walz. I think it’s important, and I think that it goes to a very fundamental difference between the Trump-Vance ticket and our opposition. We believe in talking to the media. We believe in answering questions. We believe in debating,” Vance said.
“I think it’s really important. I mean, look, I’m asking the American people to make me their vice president. It’s really important to stand before the American people to make that case, and I’m going to keep on doing it in whatever form I get the opportunity,” Vance added.
Vance has repeatedly attacked the newly formed Democratic ticket for not yet sitting down with the media to conduct a formal interview since President Biden withdrew from the race.
Walz said, at his first rally this week with Harris, that he “can’t wait to debate the guy,” referring to Vance.
