Trump edges Harris by 1 point in Wisconsin poll

Former President Trump is leading Vice President Harris by a razor-thin margin in the battleground state of Wisconsin, according to a poll released Wednesday.

The Trafalgar Group survey asked voters in the critical swing state whom they would cast their ballot for if the election were tomorrow. The numbers show Trump with a 1.1 percentage point advantage over the vice president, garnering 47.1 percent support to Harris’s 46 percent.

Roughly 3.8 percent were undecided, and 3.1 percent chose “other,” according to the poll.

Among survey respondents, 36.4 percent were Democrats, 36.1 percent were Republicans and 27.5 percent were independents. A majority, 71.7 percent, were also above the age of 50, and 84.3 percent were white. The sample was also split nearly evenly by gender — 50.5 percent female and 49.5 percent male — the data shows.

The poll results vastly differ from a Marquette School of Law poll released Wednesday that shows Harris ahead of Trump in the Badger State by 4 points.

The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index also shows the Democratic nominee leading by 1.3 percentage points — 49.4 percent to her GOP opponent’s 48.1 percent.

Respondents in the Trafalgar survey were also asked to weigh in on the Senate race between incumbent Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D) and her Republican challenger, Eric Hovde.

Asked if the election were held tomorrow, whom they would support, 48.3 percent backed Baldwin while 46 percent said Hovde. About 5.7 percent said they were undecided, the poll found.

The latest survey was conducted Sept. 28-30 among 1,079 likely general election voters. The margin of error was 2.9 percentage points.
