Former President Clinton to campaign for Harris with focus on rural Southern voters

Former President Clinton is set to hit the campaign trail for Vice President Harris with a focus on rural parts of Southern battleground states.

“The Harris campaign unleashes the Big Dog,” Harris campaign spokesperson Ian Sams posted on the social platform X, confirming CNN reporting about the campaign swing.

Clinton will travel in the coming days to appeal to rural voters to boost Harris with the critical voting bloc. The former president will travel to Georgia on Sunday and Monday and then is planning a North Carolina bus tour.

The Harris campaign is sending Clinton to counties that former President Trump won in 2020 and where Clinton won’t be holding rallies, but instead will be speaking with smaller groups of voters mainly about the economy, CNN reported.

Clinton spoke in August at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, where he drew a contrast between Harris and Trump. Former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton also spoke at the convention and hosted a fundraiser for Harris last month.

Former President Obama is also stumping for Harris in the month before the election.

Obama kicked off his campaign swing for Harris on Thursday with a rally in the Pittsburgh area and is expected to travel to other battleground states in the coming weeks.
