Former President Trump is visiting Asheville, N.C., where he will tour damage from Hurricane Helene and deliver remarks.
The event marks Trump’s first visit to western North Carolina since Hurricane Helene devastated the region in late September.
Trump was widely criticized for peddling misinformation about the federal hurricane response. He has also distanced himself from the GOP’s nominee for governor, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, whose campaign was derailed by an explosive CNN report earlier in September.
