Trump to appear with Tucker Carlson ahead of Election Day
Former President Trump will appear alongside conservative commentator Tucker Carlson ahead of Election Day in the battleground of Arizona.
Carlson, the former Fox News host, is hosting an event in Glendale, Ariz., on Oct. 31, just five days before Election Day. Trump is listed as one of the special guests, and the event is billed as a hurricane relief benefit.
Carlson is also among the speakers expected to appear at a Turning Point USA rally in Georgia on Wednesday night, where Trump is slated to address the crowd.
Both Arizona and Georgia are key battlegrounds in this year’s election. Trump narrowly lost both states in 2020, but polling has shown he is narrowly leading Vice President Harris in both places.
Carlson is popular among Trump’s base, as evidenced by the raucous reception he received when he spoke at the Republican National Convention in July.
The former Fox News anchor has been hosting a slew of live events in recent weeks with prominent figures in the Republican Party, including Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance (Ohio). But Trump has so far not appeared alongside Carlson on the campaign trail.
Carlson was fired from Fox News after the company paid more than $787 million to settle a lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems over false statements and conspiracy theories the host and the network made about the company after the 2020 election.
The lawsuit led to the release of numerous messages from Carlson in which he repeatedly disparaged Trump and his allies’ claims about election fraud, including one in which he referred to the former president as “a demonic force.”
