Clinton hits the airwaves
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s (D-N.Y.) first television spot of her presidential campaign will begin airing Tuesday.
The ad, set to run in Iowa, focuses on those Clinton believes are “invisible to their government.”
{mosads}“If you’re a family that is struggling, and you don’t have healthcare, well you are invisible to this president,” Clinton says in the spot. “If you’re a single mom trying to find affordable child care so you can go to work, well you’re invisible too. And I never thought I’d see that our soldiers, who serve in Iraq and Afghanistan, would be treated as if they are invisible as well.”
Clinton is the frontrunner among Democratic candidates but is running neck and neck with Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) and former Sen. John Edwards (N.C.) in Iowa.
“Americans from all walks of life across this country may be invisible to this president, but they’re not invisible to me,” she adds. “And they won’t be invisible to the next president of the United States.”
The ad shows Clinton walking with a farmer, meeting with working people and speaking to supporters.
