Boehner: Bin Laden’s death makes terror fight more important

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said the killing of Osama bin Laden had “unified” the United States but warned that the country must remain vigilant in its fight against terrorism.

Boehner said the death of al Qaeda’s leader “makes our engagement in places like Pakistan and Afghanistan more important, not less.”

“To those who seek to destroy freedom by preying on innocent human life, we will not rest until we bring you to justice,” the House’s top-ranking Republican said at a press conference.

Bin Laden’s death is an “important moment in the war against the radical extremists and terrorism,” he said.

The Speaker commended President Obama as well as former President George W. Bush for the efforts that led to bin Laden’s killing.
