Conservative blog claims Weiner sent shirtless pix to woman
The week-long scandal surrounding Rep. Anthony Weiner took on a new life Monday after a conservative blog claimed the New York Democrat sent a series of shirtless photos to an unidentified woman.
BigGovernment.com, a website run by the conservative firebrand Andrew Breitbart, published the photos in a series of posts Monday.
Weiner’s office did not return calls and emails for comment. Weiner has
scheduled a 4 p.m. press conference, presumedly to address the latest
allegations.
One of the photos appears to depict Weiner – barechested and expressionless – sitting at a desk before a computer.
Several others depict him hamming it up in front of a mirror – also without a shirt. Breitbart said he got the photos from an unidentified woman, who alleged she received them from Weiner via email in May.
Last year, Weiner married Huma Abedin, an aide to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Monday’s headlines follow immediately on the heels of separate allegations that Weiner recently tweeted a picture of himself in his underwear to a community college student in Seattle. Weiner has maintained that his Twitter account was hacked and that he did not send the underwear shot, although he has not denied that the photo may be of him.
