Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), who has called for President Trump’s impeachment, flatly stated that she doesn’t “respect this president” during an interview on Friday.
“I don’t honor him,” Waters said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “I don’t respect this president. I don’t think that he deserves to be president of this great country. I am very concerned about him and I really think he’s dangerous. This is abnormal what we’re experiencing with this president.”
Waters has emerged as a fierce critic of Trump, challenging the president on issues ranging from his treatment of women to taxes.
The California lawmaker renewed her call for Trump’s impeachment last weekend during Saturday’s Tax March in Washington.

“Show the people your taxes,” she said, calling Trump a “liar” for claiming he cannot release his tax returns because of an ongoing IRS audit. “Stop stonewalling, stop hiding.”
“I will fight every day until he is impeached,” Waters added, leading audience members in chants of “impeach 45.”
Trump has repeatedly refused to release his tax returns, breaking with decades of precedent. The IRS has said nothing prevents an individual from making their tax returns public, even if they are under audit.
Waters said Friday she would keep sounding alarm over alleged ties between members of Trump’s presidential campaign and Russia and the need for probing them.
“I believe that if we have the credible investigations that it will lead to his impeachment,” she told MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. “I believe that.”
