Huckabee Sanders: Replacing Spicer is up to Trump

White House deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Wednesday said any changes to the administration’s communications shop will be President Trump’s decision.

During an appearance on “Fox and Friends,” the hosts asked Sanders if she would be interested in Sean Spicer’s press secretary position.

“It’s the president’s decision to make,” she responded after letting out a laugh. 

The question was presented to Sanders amid reports that Spicer could depart the podium for a promotion inside Trump’s White House. 

{mosads}When pressed as to whether or not she would accept the position of press secretary if offered, Sanders said not many people turn Trump down. 

“I don’t think a lot of people turn the president down on anything he asks them to do, and that’s one of the reasons he’s going to be so successful and the reason that he’s pushing through and getting a lot of things done even in these first few months in office,” she told the hosts.

Spicer on Tuesday in his first on-camera briefing in eight days said the administration would let reporters know when it has a personnel announcement.

“Look, it’s no secret we’ve had a couple vacancies, including our communications director, he’s been gone for a while,” Spicer said Tuesday.

“We’ve been meeting with potential people that may be of service to this administration. I don’t think that should come as any surprise but we’re always looking for ways to do a better job of articulating the president’s message and his agenda.”
