GOP rep: Tax reform will not happen without healthcare reform
Rep. Sean Duffy (R-Wis.) on Monday said lawmakers need to get healthcare reform done before taking on tax reform.
“Tax reform will not happen unless we have healthcare reform done,” Duffy said on “Fox & Friends.”
“We’re using budget reconciliation, these stupid Senate rules, and in tax reform, it has to be revenue neutral,” he continued.
{mosads}”So every tax dollar you move down, another tax dollar has to go up. You take a trillion dollars of ObamaCare taxes to move those tax dollars down by a trillion dollars.”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced Saturday the Senate would delay its consideration of its healthcare legislation while Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) recovers from surgery.
Two GOP senators — Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.) — have already spoken out against the Senate GOP’s healthcare legislation.
