Schiff: Trump ‘clearly worried’ about his finances in Russia probe
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, said on Sunday that President Trump is “clearly worried” that the special counsel investigation could include his finances in the Russia probe.
“The president is clearly worried,” about accusations that Russia laundered money through the Trump Organization, Schiff told CBS’s “Face the Nation.”
{mosads}“What concerns me the most is anything that could be held over the president’s head that could influence U.S. policy,” Schiff added.
Schiff’s concerns come after Trump in an interview last week said it would be “a violation” for special counsel Robert Mueller investigate his or his family’s finances beyond looking for potential ties between Trump’s campaign staff members and the Kremlin.
“I think that’s a violation. Look, this is about Russia,” Trump told The New York Times.
