GOP rep: People believe Congress has lost its way, not the Republican Party

Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) said people think Congress has “lost its way,” adding that constituents want to see action.

“People in my district think it is Congress that has lost its way,” she said during an interview on “Fox & Friends.”

“Not the party and not the party principles. It is the members of Congress, and they come to D.C. but they don’t deliver a product,” she continued.

Blackburn said people are tired of talk and want to get this country back on the right track.

“They elected Donald Trump,” she said. “My job is to make certain he is the most successful president he can possibly be for the good of the country.”

Her comments come as President Trump struggles to make progress on some key items on his agenda, including repealing and replacing of ObamaCare.

Since GOP senators failed to pass last week a “skinny” bill repealing parts of ObamaCare, Trump has waged a public pressure campaign.

But Senate Republicans appear ready to ignore Trump’s demands that they immediately resurrect ObamaCare repeal and abolish the legislative filibuster.
