Paul Ryan: ‘It is time for the wall’

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) called for action on President Trump’s proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border in a video he tweeted out on Tuesday. 

“RT if you agree,” he posted on Twitter, along with a video of a border visit he made. “It is time for the wall.”

The video shows Speaker Ryan on a visit to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, where he met with Border Patrol officers.

“When you see what they’re up against, it really gives you even greater respect for what they do. They clearly need more tools and more support to do their jobs effectively,” he said.

“That’s why we’re going to get this done this week,” he added.

The video was also posted on the Speaker’s website, under the headline, “The Wall: Let’s Get it Done.”

“It’s time for The Wall. That’s why the House voted to fully fund the Trump administration’s request to build it,” the accompanying blog post says. 

In March, during the push to fund the federal government through the rest of the fiscal year, Ryan said Congress would deny the administration’s request for additional funding for the wall from the Department of Homeland Security.
