Maxine Waters: Trump is the most deplorable person I’ve ever met
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) criticized President Trump on MSNBC on Friday, calling him “the most deplorable person” she has ever met.
Waters was asked on “Morning Joe” if it was appropriate to talk about impeaching Trump in the wake of news the the special counsel probing Russian election meddling has impaneled a grand jury.
“I’ve long thought that there was a lot of smoke, even fire, and that everything that I have learned about this president, starting with the campaign itself, that people should have understood that there was something terribly wrong with him,” Waters said on “Morning Joe.”
“As a matter of fact, I have said over and over again, I think he’s the most deplorable person I’ve ever met in my life,” she added.

Waters’s comment is an apparent reference to former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s infamous claim that half of Trump’s supporters can be grouped into a “basket of deplorables.”
Waters has been among Trump’s most vocal critics in Congress and has repeatedly raised the prospect of impeachment.
Pressed by co-host Joe Scarborough Friday on whether she thought Trump’s new chief of staff, John Kelly, could bring order to the West Wing and tamp down the controversies surrounding the president, Waters said she has “no hopes” that Trump’s behavior would improve.
“He is a flawed man with no real values and no real appreciation or understanding for government or public policy,” she said. “No, I have no hopes that anybody is going to be able to contain him or that he’s going to change.”
