Dem lawmaker: NRA becoming a domestic security threat
Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-N.Y.) fired back at National Rifle Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch on Friday, calling the NRA a “domestic security threat” on Twitter.
“I’m just going to say it. #NRA & @DLoesch are quickly becoming domestic security threats under President Trump. We can’t ignore that,” she said.

The statement comes after she responded to a post from Loesch, who commented on Twitter that Philando Castile, a black man who was killed by police during a traffic stop outside Minneapolis last year, was in possession of a controlled substance while having a gun.
“So if a white guy was shot dead during a routine stop w/ a legal gun & a joint in his car, #NRA would stay silent? You’re the ones lying,” Rice posted.

Loesch responded to Rice’s claim that she is a “domestic security threat,” saying that she is waiting for Rice’s “secret police” to come for her.
Waiting for @RepKathleenRice to say when her secret police are coming since she considers me, members more dangerous than MS-13 in her area.

Castile’s death last July sparked outrage and protest after Castile’s girlfriend live-streamed the immediate aftermath of the shooting on Facebook using her cellphone. In addition to protests, social media users have criticized the NRA for not speaking out against the shooting, saying that the incident reflects racial bias since Castile had a permit to carry the firearm he had on him at the time of the shooting.
Loesch appeared in an NRA video last week attacking The New York Times, referring to the newspaper as “fake news” in the video and said “we’re coming for you.”
“We’re going to laser-focus on your so-called ‘honest pursuit of truth.’ In short, we’re coming for you,” Loesch said in the video. “Consider this a shot across your proverbial bow.”
“The only way we stop this, the only way we save our country and our freedom is to fight this violence of lies with the clenched fist of truth,” she said at the time.
