GOP rep rushes down stairs as reporter asks about Roy Moore’s accusers

A GOP lawmaker jogged down a staircase Tuesday as a reporter attempted to ask him about sexual misconduct allegations against Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore.

In video posted to Twitter by ABC News, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) dodges ABC’s Tom Llamas’s questions about whether the congressman believes the five women who have accused Moore of sexual misconduct.

“Do you believe Roy Moore over the women?” Llamas asked in the video, to which Brooks responded, “I believe that the Democrats will do great damage to our country.”

“I believe that the Democrats will do great damage to our country on a myriad of issues,” Brooks reiterated after Llamas pressed him while running down a set of stairs.

Brooks has stood by Moore despite mounting sexual misconduct allegations against the Alabama Senate candidate since last week, which have prompted numerous senior Republicans to call for Moore to step aside.

Brooks argued earlier this week that the conservative agenda outweighs the accusations.

“America faces huge challenges that are vastly more important than contested sexual allegations from four decades ago,” Brooks told AL.com in a text message.
